The GISTware training management system works by placing organization members on "career paths." Each career path is a series of "profiles." Each profile contains a list of "qualifications."
In the context of a professional career, the qualifications are necessary (or suggested) for someone holding the position described in the job profile. The career path is a sequence of advancing jobs.
If used in an educational context, the career path might be a particular major, and the profiles various states in the process of acquiring that major.
