The GISTware content distribution and billing system is used to control access to library material, and to charge for usage. The billing system uses three fundemental concepts: orgs, accounts, and channels.
Any party that needs to be addressed in the billing system must have an org record in the GISTware system. All billing and distribution takes place between org records.
For any two orgs to be able to interact using the distribution and billing system, there must be an account between those two orgs. Each account has a payee (the party that controls the account, and distribution through the account) and a payor (the party that recieves distribution through the account).
Each channel exists within some account, and distributes content, potentially subject to some restrictions.
Thus, for content to be distributed between two parties on the system, each party must have an org record, there must be an account involving those org records, and there must be at least one channel in the account.
